The Grande Côte campsite in the Charente-Maritime region, near to the seaside resort of Royan, and Saint-Palais, faces the beach and is the ideal place for a great holiday.
Many impressive and exciting sites are waiting for you at the Grande Côte campsite, in the Charente-Maritime region… the fine sandy beach patrolled by lifeguards, beach and line fishing, surf casting and traditional fishing with nets, all side by side, the Pont du Diable and its little sandy rocky stream, the traditional markets and craft markets in Saint-Palais and surrounding areas, more than 25 km of cycle tracks, Talmont la belle on the pilgrim’s route to Compostela, Gallo-Roman sites, the troglodyte caves and the museum dedicated to the history of Gironde caviar on the Gironde estuary, the Cordouan lighthouse accessible by boat (open every day in July/August), the typically Charentais village of Mornac, the Palmyre zoo (open every day, one of the top European zoos, more than 1500 animals !).
Royan is a fishing port and sailing marina, where there are sailing boats, motor boats and jet skis for hire, a sailing school and a surfing school…
